SPEAKING OF AWESOME, I GOT A CHANCE TO ASK THE BIG HOMIE EL ABOUT 10 OF MY FAVORITE RECORDS THAT HE’S MADE THAT HE HAS NO IDEA HOW MANY TIMES I’VE PLAYED THEM AND WANTED TO KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN TO HIM:
1. “Simple”
EL-P: One of the last co flow songs I did. I remember we had another hook but me and Len decided to each tell stories overlapping instead. The next co flow album was going to be called Paincave, so I shouted it out at the end. Paincave never happened.
2. “Simian Drugs”
EL-P: Lot of fun making this joint. me and Bill just knocked it out in one day at my spot in BK. Bill is one of the most under rated rappers out there.
3. “Linda Tripp”
EL-P : Self defense.
4. “We’re Famous”
EL-P: I was feeling a bit under appreciated when I wrote my verse. I’m guessing it showed.
5. “Reports Of A Possible Kidnapping”
EL-P: Took me a while to get my verse done. Kept re-writing it, scraping, it, starting over. Then it just popped out in like 10 minutes.
6. “Drive”
EL=P: I dont even have a license.
7. “Lazerface’s Warning”
EL-P: I took Shrooms once and started screaming “There are lasers coming out of my face” in the back of the cab. Camu was there. True story.
8. “Full Retard”
EL-P: I’m back, Motherfuckers.
9. “Patriotism”
EL-P: Wrote this in the Clinton era when everyone thought shit was peachy. it wasnt.
10. “Opiates”
EL-P: This was gonna be on Paincave.
